In a village, one person often runs the pub, shop or hall alone, so a wasp nest needs a simple plan that fits around opening hours and limited staff.
Plugging the hole is the most common home fix, and the one most likely to push wasps from the cavity into your rooms.
A wasp nest hidden in a bank or hedge bottom is often found the hard way, by the noise and shake of a mower or strimmer passing close by.
