Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
Wasp traffic follows the weather and the time of day, so a few quiet minutes of watching on a warm afternoon can tell you more than hours of guessing.
Wasps rarely choose an entrance at random, so spotting why they favour one window or door often leads you to the real cause.
Schools, nurseries and clubs have children outdoors at lunchtime, bins in playgrounds and strict duties of care, so a wasp nest needs calm, quick handling.
Ivy-clad trees and old hedgerow trunks give wasps plenty of dark corners, and the nest may be higher up and further back than you would think.
Spotting the nest is only half the job; the other half is keeping people and pets out of the flight path until the technician has treated it.
