Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
When the loft belongs to a business, a wasp nest raises questions about staff, customers and opening hours as well as stings, and a few practical decisions make it manageable.
Roofs and chimneys offer sheltered gaps that wasps favour, and a few careful minutes with binoculars from the ground can tell you a great deal.
A nest beside the gate, the drive or the path to the front door puts everyone who arrives at risk, including people who have no idea it is there.
Where there is one nest there can be another, and a careful walk around the building from the ground can turn up a second colony before it causes trouble.
On commercial premises, a quick, calm identification helps you protect staff and customers and decide whether you need a wasp technician or a beekeeper.
