Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
Knowing what happens on the day makes the visit less worrying. This guide walks through the technician’s arrival, the treatment and what they will tell you before they leave.
For pubs, cafés and anyone serving food outdoors, the wasp calendar and the summer trading calendar overlap, and a nest in August can cost a good weekend.
The first hours after treatment matter most, because the wasps coming back to the nest are the ones that carry the effect through the colony.
The first few wasps seen near the house in spring are easy to dismiss, yet they are often the start of a colony that will be much harder to ignore by summer.
A nest tells you more than any single insect does, because wasps and bees build with different materials, in different places, and in very different shapes.
