Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
August is the point at which a wasp colony is at its largest, and understanding what is happening inside the nest explains why the month feels so difficult.
Nests in trees, hedges and under overhangs are often visible once you know where to look, though they can be hidden by leaves until late summer.
Office wasps are rarely about food. They are usually the first sign of a nest in the roof, soffit or wall, and staff want to know it is dealt with.
Sealing a hole with filler or a rag may sound like the neat answer to a nest in the wall, but it often leads to wasps in the house.
Ten minutes of calm watching from a safe distance can show you whether an entrance belongs to wasps, honeybees or bumblebees, without going near the nest.
“I would definitely use these again, Alex came to my home to eradicate a wasp nest in my gutter there were that many of them and I was scared to go out and come back into my house it was really getting bad, he came along and sorted it and now I'm pleased to say they have all gone. Thank you Alex”
